Rahel arrived in Budapest in 1941 and joined a hahshara. In 1942 she smuggled comrades from Slovakia into Hungary. Her roles were to find dwellings, food and forged documents as well as to move refugees to hiding places. After the German occupation of Hungary and the beginning of deportations, Rahel traveled with her sister to her village from where she was deported to Auschwitz.
After the liberation she stayed in Sweden in order to recover her health. Rahel made aliya in 1948 and joined Kibbutz Kfar Hahoresh where she is still a member. She held various positions in the kibbutz and in the movement.
